The LifePak Express uses escalating energy technology with settings ranging from 200J, to 300J, to 360J. The unit monitors the patient's movements and hearbeat and delivers the lower shock level first, then increases the energy up to 360J and continues shocking until the victim responds and is no longer is ventricular fibrillation. The unit offers an intuitive feature that monitors the patients movements and a motion detector shows if there is a movement from the victim's body .
The LifePak Express features semi-automatic functionality ahd has a three step process for the AED to initiate a shock: turning on the AED, applying the Pads, and press the shock button. The LIfePak Express also uses voice prompts during the rescue to provide the responder clear directions and confidence during the save.
The unit includes a self-testing feature that helps ensure the AED is properly maintained and operational. A visible readiness display allows managers to see that the unit is ready. The unit also features an internal battery that is charged by the CHARGE-PAK battery in order to maintain an optimal level.
