Nevada Good Samaritan Law

The Nevada Good Samaritan law has be enacted to protected individuals that aid a victim during an emergency from liability.  The State of Nevada Good Samaritan Law states the following:

"Except as provided in NRS 41.505, any person in this state, who renders emergency care or assistance in an emergency, gratuitously and in good faith, is not liable for any civil damages as a result of any act or omission, not amounting to gross negligence, by him/her in rendering the emergency care or assistance, or as a result of any act or failure to act, not amounting to gross negligence, to provide or arrange for further medical treatment for the injured person."

Nevada Terrorism Law- (AB441)

creating the Nevada Commission on Homeland Security; setting forth the membership and duties of the Commission; providing certain exceptions to the open meeting law; requiring certain political subdivisions to adopt and maintain a response plan; establishing a plan for the continuation of state and local governmental operations; requiring certain utilities to conduct vulnerability assessments and to prepare emergency response plans; revising provisions relating to certain unlawful acts committed against utilities; requiring the Director of the Department of Information Technology to determine the confidentiality of certain records relating to the security of the State; providing for the confidentiality of certain documents, records and other information; imposing certain requirements for interoperability with respect to information and communication systems purchased by this state and local governments; requiring certain governmental entities to place automated external defibrillators in certain buildings and facilities; making various changes with respect to the authority of the Department of Motor Vehicles to accept and reject certain documents; increasing certain criminal penalties with respect to the fraudulent use of drivers’ licenses and identification cards; making an appropriation; providing penalties; and providing other matters properly relating thereto.

Relating to public health; requiring the Health Division of

The Department of Health and Human Services, within the

Limitations of available funding, to establish and maintain a

Database of certain owners of automated external

Defibrillators for use in an emergency; providing for the

Registration of automated external defibrillators with the

Health Division; authorizing all public schools in this State to

Acquire automated external defibrillators under certain

Circumstances; providing for the placement of automated

External defibrillators in medical facilities and health clubs

In this State; providing a civil penalty; and providing other

 Matters properly relating thereto.
