The Vermont AED Law requires owners of an AED to follow certain regulations when owning an AED. The State of Vermont requires the following:
"(c) Any person who owns or leases an AED shall:
(1) notify the department and the person’s regional ambulance service or first responder service of the existence, location, and type of device the person possesses; and
(2) maintain and test the device in accordance with the applicable standards of the manufacturer."
The State of Vermont requires that the AED be properly maintained by replacing the pads and batteries according to the manufacture's guidelines and to notify local EMS of the placement of the AED.
