With an IP rating of 55,the Philips HeartStart FRx is the most durable AED in Philips innovative line of defibrillators. It is built to withstand heavy usage by first responder and polic units, but includes a 1-2-3 step system that can be used by anyone - just turn on the AED, apply the pads, and shock the victim.
The Philips HeartStart FRx utilizes biphasic waveform set at 150J per shock - an effective dose for someone suffering cardiac arrest.
The Philips HeartStart FRx includes several notable features:
- Infant/Child Key – The FRx is one of the few AED's that offers a child key for safety. When the child key is inserted into the FRx, it reduces the energy outut so that the adult pads can be used on an infant or child.
- CPR Coaching – The CPR Coaching features provides freedback information for the user on the frequency and depth of the compressions being administered. This is an extremely helpful tool in helping users to correctly perform CPR and compressions on the victim during treatment and increase responder confidence.
- “I” Button – This feature informs users that there is an issue with the AED. If the unit is beeping, pushing the "I" button will provide information on the problem. The "I" button can also give EMS responders insight into an emergency by recounting event details.
The HeartStart FRx provides a 4-year battery life and 5 year shelf life. and includes self-testing that alerts users of problems with the unit. If the AED's green light is flashing, the Philips HeartStart FRx is ready in an emergency.
